"Purissima Vodka" Cocktail Recipes

Half Moon Bay Distillery is thrilled to introduce our stellar local bartenders!  Each month, we will feature a Purissima Vodka cocktail created by a talented  coastside  “mixologists”.  

November 2015

Harvard Avenue Gin Gimlet

This month, we are inviting you to the Half Moon Bay Yacht Club, where bartender Richelle Heaslet has created the Harvard Avenue Gin Gimlet. Visit the Yacht Club to try it, or make it at home:

Harvard Avenue Gin Gimlet:
2 oz. of Harvard Avenue Gin
3/4 oz. fresh lime juice
3/4 oz. Rose's Lime Syrup
2-3 fresh mint leaves

Muddle the mint leaves in a cocktail shaker. Add ice cubes, Harvard Avenue Gin and other ingredients. Shake vigorously, then strain into a martini glass. Decorate with a slice of lime and enjoy!

Purissima Vodka Jack-O-Tini

Half Moon Bay Distillery usually features one of our stellar local bartenders and their Purissima Vodka cocktail creations. But October is a special month for Half Moon Bay, the “Pumpkin Capital of the World”! We will be serving Purissima Vodka cocktails at the Half Moon Bay Pumpkin Festival, and in honor of this event, our featured cocktail this month is our very own signature drink, the Purissima Vodka Jack-o-Tini. Visit the Half Moon Bay Distillery’s booth at the Pumpkin Festival to try it, or make it at home:

Purissima Vodka Jack-O-Tini:
2 oz. of Purissima Vodka
1 oz. orange juice
1/4 oz. simple syrup
1/4 oz. pumpkin puree (canned or fresh)
1 teaspoon lemon juice
A dash of vanilla extract

Mix ingredients with lots of ice in a cocktail shaker. Strain into a martini glass, sprinkle with a dash of pumpkin pie spice and enjoy!

Mel’s Purissima Popper

Half Moon Bay Distillery is thrilled to introduce our stellar local bartenders! Each month, we will feature a Purissima Vodka cocktail created by a talented coastside “mixologists”.This month, we invite you to the Moss Beach Distillery Restaurant, where bartender Mel works her magic. Mel is kicking it up a notch with “Mel’s Purissima Popper”. Visit the Moss Beach Distillery to try it, or make it at home.

Mel’s Purissima Popper:
3 oz. of Purissima Vodka
1 oz. orange liqueur (Mel uses Grand Marnier) 1⁄2 of a jalapeno pepper, seeded and cut
into 6 pieces 1⁄2 oz. simple syrup

Fill cocktail shaker with ice and add Purissima Vodka and all other ingredients. Rim half of a martini glass with sugar. Shake vigorously, strain into the martini glass and enjoy!

It's Italia Summer Tea

This month, return to It’s Italia, where bartender Pamella Winans has created an exciting new cocktail for those hot days. “It’s Italia Summer Tea” cocktail features Purissima Vodka. Visit It’s Italia to try it, or make it at home:
It's Italia Summer Tea
2 oz House-Infused Watermelon Purissima Vodka
3⁄4 oz Fresh squeezed lemon
3⁄4 oz Triple Sec

A splash of Agave Nectar Infuse an entire bottle of Purissima Vodka with a cup of fresh watermelon, store in a dark place for 10 days. Shake all ingredients in a cocktail shaker filled with ice, strain into a martini glass and enjoy!

Purissima Bloody Mary

This month, we invite you to San Benito Ale House, in Half Moon Bay, where bartender Amber McLaren works her magic. Amber has created a Purissima Bloody Mary — visit San Benito Ale House to try it, or make it at home:
Purissima Bloody Mary
1.5 oz Purissima Vodka
3 oz tomato juice
1/2 oz lemon juice
1/2 oz olive juice
1/2 teaspoon each of Worcestersauce and horseradish

Season with fresh ground pepper, paprika, a dash of cayenne pepper and celery salt.

Mix ingredients with ice in a cocktail shaker. Strain into a glass filled with ice, Garnish with celery stick and olives and enjoy!

Don't Worry, Be Happy

This month, we invite you to Half Moon Bay Brewing Company, where bartender Cody Peterson-Lunden has created an exciting new cocktail. "Don’t Worry, Be Happy" cocktail features Purissima Vodka with an unexpected twist:
Don’t Worry, Be Happy – a cocktail with an unexpected twist:
1 1/2 oz Purissima Vodka
1 1/2 oz coconut flavored rum (Cody uses Malibu Rum)
1 oz lime juice
1 oz simple syrup
1/2 oz coconut milk
1 whole sprig of mint

Shake all ingredients in a cocktail shaker filled with ice, strain over ice into a pint glass and top with a “float” of Kölsch beer. Trust us, this works!!!

Purissima Fresca

This month, we invite you to Flavor on the Coast Reataurant where bartender Jason Aygun works his magic.  Jason has created the Purissima Fresca - visit Flavor on the Coast to try it, or make it at home:

2 oz. of Purissima Vodka, infused with fresh organic lavender
1/4 oz. fresh lemon juice
1/4 oz. simple syrup
1 large strawberry
1 large basil leaf

In a cocktail shaker, muddle the strawberry with the basil leaf. Fill cocktail shaker with ice and add the vodka, lemon juice and simple syrup Shake vigorously, strain into a martini glass and enjoy!

Maynor Yoc's LAVENDER LEMON DROP

2 oz. of Purissima Vodka
1 oz. fresh lemon juice
1 oz. agave syrup

Mix ingredients with lots of ice in a cocktail shaker. Strain into a martini glass and enjoy!

NATE’S NIPPLE MILK (Bad name, great cocktail!):

2 oz. of Purissima Vodka
1 oz. coffee liqueur (Abe uses Kahlua)
2 oz. cinnamon cream liqueur (Abe uses Rumchata)

Mix ingredients with lots of ice in a cocktail shaker. Strain into a martini glass and enjoy!
